Pretty Mamas High 5!
After careful consideration I have now pared down my fashion-spending to 5 key items. I think these are the pieces every mama really needs to spend a little bit on (it’s what we really use every day)
1. Good Denim. At least 2 pairs of great-fitting jeans, which you will wear every single day and on date night with little heels. No need to go crazy and spend hundreds, I get mine at Kohl’s and they are totally chic. One dark pair is for getting fancy.
2. Excellent sunglasses. These I break the piggy on. Mine are Coach and I love them. All those sleepless nights, endless worrying, dark circles and crying (because this job is so hard sometimes) are concealed in a glam way. Oh yeah, they block sun too.
3. A very good handbag. Not a diaper bag! I used a diaper bag for two years and then said, enough! I want a purse! Career women wouldn’t be caught dead without a well-made handbag and neither should we SAHMommies.
4. Quality shoes. Yes, they must be sensible because we run after toddlers and juggle way too many things. Slip-on’s are smart. Cute flips flops in summer and a nice, cushy athletic shoe in winter. In between boots and clogs and maybe even a little strappy one.
5. One key piece of jewelry. Could be a good watch, a great ring or diamond studs. Mine is my silver charm bracelet. I have a charm for each of my kids and as it jingles it reminds me of them.
