Day at Home with Pink Eye(s) By Jeni Boltshauser
Night before: Decide to have Riley stay home with Mom to enjoy a wonderful day together while Mom recovers from Pinkeye(s).
7:28am Riley yelling “Hey!” from his room. Have the feeling he’s been yelling for awhile. Sleeping was so good.
7:45am Picking up pieces of waffle from carpet that suspiciously, were not near the table. Only the pieces with loads of cream cheese made it on the carpet.
7:50am Still cleaning carpet.
8:15am Riley and Mom putting all the spare change from daddy’s pockets into the change bucket to get ready for laundry.
8:16am Wonder what happened to the pennies, see big cheeks like chipmunk.
8:18am Not sure if all the pennies were rescued. Wonder how many can be swallowed before warranting a trip to the ER?
9:00am More spring cleaning. Cleaning out all the old baby stuff while the little mister discovers the breast pump and runs around with it attached to his chest.
9:05am Still pondering how he knew how to use it.
11:00am Decide to go outside to plant flowers bought last weekend… flowers that I had to have and spent a good amount of time slowly picking out, examining each one, choosing ever so meticulously while husband and son whined and followed,”accidentally” ramming heels with the cart.
11:30am Both of us soaking wet because someone (the one with the gooey eyes) forgot to turn off the hose and the other one turned it on both of them.
11:31am Cold outside, try to take everybody in to get changed. Hot Pants absolutely refuses, throws himself on the ground and howls like never before.
11:33am Beyond mortification– “Hey, neighbor! Enjoying your morning?”
11:45am Lunch!
11:47am Cleaning pizza out of carpet.
12:01pm Ah, nap time.
